Soundtrack of the Week // 21st January.

The Cure / Lady Gaga.
Okay so, I've not really been a fan of Lady Gaga since her 2nd album which means I haven't listened to any of her more recent stuff until I heard this track the other day. I absolutely love it, I wanna be honest and say it's because I feel it's different to her other stuff but whatever the reason, it's a great track and I've easily listened to it a bunch of times since I heard it so obviously, I'm gonna recommend you go listen to it although you probably have because I'm clearly behind on great Lady Gaga tracks.

Sunshine Riptide / Fall Out Boy.
Picking one track off of the new Fall Out Boy album wasn't the easiest, but I will say that this track was my favourite after the first few listens so it makes sense to include this one, this week. The whole album is absolutely amazing though, I highly recommend it.

Lockdown / LINES.
If you followed my Weekly Playlist Update, I may have possibly recommended another LINES song called "You" and now we're back with another. It's their new track and it's great. It does feel a bit more slower than "You" but it's still just as good and I'd say that they are a band to watch.

All tracks have been added to the playlist so make sure to go check it out and if you have any recommendations for me, leave them below!

featuring all the recommendations.

See you next time!

Soundtrack of the Week // 14th January.

Soundtrack of the Week is the new and improved version of the Weekly Playlist Update that I did last year. That has been retired, the playlist unfortunately deleted but we're starting fresh with a brand new playlist and a better way of doing it.

Each week, there will be a selection of new songs that were, as you can probably guess, the soundtrack of my week. They could be new releases, they could be classics and they can be anything in between. All lovely shared with you and collected in a playlist for your listening pleasure.

Let's get this first week of Soundtrack of the Week started!

Don't Need It Now / Le Boom
I recently discovered Le Boom on Spotify through their Hot New Bands playlist and I'm glad I did. Described as a DIY-electro-dance duo, you can expect just that from this track.

What We Do / Le Boom
Okay, so I know the other track is also by Le Boom but when I discover something I love, I have to check out their other tracks and this one is just as great as the other. Check both out, now.

Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) / Fall Out Boy
The new track off of their new album, which is out tomorrow and I'm super excited for it. Fall Out Boy have yet to disappoint with me any of their albums or tracks released and from the singles released so far, I think this one is going to be just as amazing as their previous stuff. It' great to see a band grow over time, create new sounds and still remain as fantastic as before.

The line "I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker colour" is a beautifully emo lyric that just teleports me back to early Fall Out Boy so even if the style has changed slightly, you know the lyrics are still as Fall Out Boy as before.

for your listening pleasure.

See you next time!

Week 10 // Weekly Playlist Update

TRACK 1: A Different Love (w/ Lauv) / DJ Snake
DJ Snake & Lauv are both artists that I love and when two artists I love come together to create a great track, you know I'm gonna really love it.

TRACK 2: Your Mind (feat. Kristen Marie) / HEDIA
A great mixture of vocals and beat, sampling the classic house track "She's A Gypsy" by Crystal Waters, you can't help but love this track.

TRACK 3: Would You Ever (feat. Poo Bear) / Skrillex
I'm not a big Skrillex fan but this is different to the usual music he creates and I love it, it's been on repeat since I discovered it and there is even a remix that's just as good as the original. I've also featured that below!

Would You Ever (4B Remix) / Skrillex (feat. Poo Bear)

Happy Listening!

Week 9 // Weekly Playlist Update

TRACK 1: What About Us / Shoffy.
An artist I recently discovered and while making my way through their self-titled album, I found this amazing track (the others I've heard so far are also amazing so make sure you check those out too).

TRACK 2: Electric Touch / A R I Z O N A
A R I Z O N A  have managed to combine a soft voice with the perfect beats to create this beautiful track. I'd consider this the perfect soundtrack for a chilled out day of daydreaming.

TRACK 3: Recognise (feat. Ashe) / Win and Woo.
Another great track for a night of dancing!

Happy Listening!

Decades Special: The 60s // Weekly Playlist Update

Get ready for a decades special of the Weekly Playlist Update. Every other week will focus on a new decade and three great tracks from that time. Starting with the 60s!

TRACK 1: Runaround Sue / Dion (1961)
This is a track that is easily in my top favourite tracks, and I have Sleeping With The Enemy to thank for reminding me of it's existence. Similar to the other tracks I've recommended, it's one you can get up and dance to!

TRACK 2: Stay / Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs. (1964).
If you've seen Dirty Dancing, then you'll definitely know this track! There isn't much I can say about it other than you should listen to it and then add it to your own playlist because it's an amazing track.

TRACK 3: Will You Love Me Tomorrow / The Shirelles. (1961).
Again, I feel this is a track that quite a few people might already know but it's definitely a great one. One thing I do love about these tracks is that old sound that they have, as if they're being played on a vinyl from when it was released.

Happy Listening!

Week 8 // Weekly Playlist Update

This week focuses on tracks that are slightly heavier than those featured previously!

TRACK 1: Follow You / Bring Me The Horizon
I feel in comparison to other Bring Me The Horizon songs, this is a slower, more calmer song which I actually enjoy, I'm also a big fan of the lyrics and the two together make this one of my favourite songs on their album, "That's The Spirit".

TRACK 2: Hated / Beartooth
Again, the lyrics to this song are part of the reason I love it as much as I do, especially when it comes to the chorus as it's something that I feel I, as well as many others, can relate to. As a bonus track, I've also included the acoustic version which is just as good and perfect for those who might not like something this heavy.

TRACK 3: Wisteria / Hands Like Houses
I'm pretty sure that this is the track that first got me into Hands Like Houses and it still remains one of my favourites by this band and I've even been lucky enough to see them perform this track live, which was just as good as I thought it would be.

BONUS TRACK: Oceandust / Hands Like Houses
I've decided to throw in another Hands Like Houses track as a bonus. Having not listened to them in a few months, it was nice to listen to them, as well as the other bands posted above. This is a track that I'd forgotten about that I absolutely loved.

Happy listening!

Week 7 // Weekly Playlist Update

TRACK 1: You / LINES
I've heard this track more times than I can count since I discovered it. It's indie mixed with great beats making a great track for getting up and dancing like no-one is watching.

TRACK 2: Wise Up / Huntar
This features on the new album, Your Favourite Worst Mistake, which also happens to be the first Huntar album. It's definitely the first track that jumped out at me during my first listen and remained my favourite (mainly because I haven't given the rest of the album a chance yet..)

TRACK 3: Phases ft. French Montana / ALMA
Another great track from Finnish star, ALMA. As always, a great track for getting up and dancing to, maybe even a good break up track to help you move on from your latest phase..

Week 6 // Weekly Playlist Update

P L A Y L I S T / L I N K

Who runs the world? Girls! So, let's rock out with our fellow world rulers in this female fronted special!

TRACK 1: Blow The Bass / Lowell
I'd describe this as moody number perfect to have a little slow dance to, whether it's on the dance floor or between the sheets. I'm sure we all have songs we think are perfect to have sex to, right?

TRACK 2: Hold On / Angus & Julia Stone
As well as songs to have sex to, I also have a mental list of songs that are perfect for gloomy evenings spent snuggled up in bed, when you just want some easy listening music to daydream about what could have been to. This track is perfect for that.

TRACK 3: Colour Me / VALERAS
With only one EP under their belts, they are definitely one to watch out for. I can see them as the band to break out onto the scene and possibly be the next big thing - I'm that in love with them. After listening to the track below, check out their EP "Knives & Flowers".

Happy Listening!

Week 5 // Weekly Playlist Update

TRACK 1: 1-800-273-8255 / Logic (feat. Alessia Cara, Khalid)
It's a fantastic track, simple as. I love when artists use their platform to get a message across, especially when it's one that hits home with so many people.

"Who can relate?"

TRACK 2: I Kinda Like It / Julie Bergan
I found this track through a TV show and I'm so glad I did. It's what I'd describe as a great "getting ready for a night out" track. The perfect song to throw on to get yourself ready for the night.

TRACK 3: Waiting on the Summer / VHS Collection
Summer may be over, especially with the rain we've had recently in the UK but while we're waiting for it to come back around, this track will make it feel like it never left.

Happy Listening!

Week 4 // Weekly Playlist Update

With the release of their new album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell, it's been hard to listen to anything else this week so this weeks tracks are all tracks that come from this album.

TRACK 1: Walk Alone / Pvris.
Walk Alone is the first track on the album that I feel in love with. I love the way they've created this track, with the drums standing out through the chorus, the orchestral parts throughout the song which remind me a little of a Florence and the Machine track that fit in so well. It's a fantastic track and the first one I put on when listening to this album.

TRACK 2: Separate / Pvris
Another fantastic track which again, I love how they've created. Once more, the drums stand out throughout the track and the way the vocals come across fits perfectly. It's hard to put down why exactly I love this track, so give it a listen and find out for yourself.

TRACK 3: Same Soul / Pvris
Yet another fantastic track that stood out to me while listening to this album, the chorus being what got me hooked. Again, go give it a listen and see for yourself just how great this track is.

If you're a Pvris fan, this playlist update is perfect for you and if not or you've never listened to them then now is the time to give them ago and see what you think!

Week 3 // Weekly Playlist Update

TRACK 1: Sugar / Fickle Friends.
I discovered these beauts supporting some band that my dad wanted to see and I've been in love with them ever since. Sugar is a track that features on the EP for their latest single "Glue" (featured in last weeks update) and I LOVE it. It's a lovely little upbeat number that is perfect for summer, even if we're reaching the end of it - the sun is still shining so throw this track on and get dancing!

TRACK 2: Winter / Pvris
Pvris have just dropped their new album which I highly recommend you check out, so it only seemed right that one of their tracks featured this week. This track was released as a single before the albums released and was by far, my favourite of the singles.

TRACK 3: Stupid For You / Waterparks
I've heard of this band a few times but hadn't heard any of their music until I saw a bit of their set at Slam Dunk 2017 but even then, it wasn't until listening to a pop punk playlist that they were featured on that I actually realised just how good they are. They are your typical pop punk boy band, but they are still worth a listen if that's your cup of tea.

Week 2 // Weekly Playlist Update

TRACK 1: Young Blood / Noah Kahan.
I randomly discovered this track through Spotify and I'm really glad that I did. While it does feel like this is the thousandth track that sounds similar in ways, I absolutely love it regardless and could happily stick it on repeat.

TRACK 2: One More Night (Lemonade) / XY&O.
Again, another band I found via Spotify and feel in love with. Currently, they only have a hand full of tracks on Spotify but I promise you, that's enough to make you love them as much as I do. They've also done their own version of One Dance by Drake which you can find on their Youtube page, again it's definitely worth the listen.

This is their latest track, bringing you some great 90s vibes which I love. I will say that the only downside is there seems to be only one verse, the other verse seemingly dropped in favour of a verse of guitar but it's still a great track.

TRACK 3: She's Casual / The Hunna.
When I first heard this band, I wasn't all that interested but now I'm converted - I am a fan. This is my favourite track so far off their first album, 100. I love everything about it, the way it starts out, the lyrics, how it carries on - it's all so, so good and I recommend this track and the rest of their album for your listening pleasure.

TRACK 4: Glue (Acoustic) / Fickle Friends.
My love for acoustic tracks comes and goes, it has to be a track that I really love for me to enjoy the acoustic version and even then, it's a little hit & miss but as it's being featured on this playlist, you know it's so good. Don't forget to also check out the original, and all of their other tracks. Definitely a great band that I believe will win the hearts of many.

Week 1 // Weekly Playlist Update

Music is my number one love so naturally, I wanna share great tracks with people so they too can enjoy the awesomeness. That's where the Weekly Playlist Update comes in! Great tracks added every week to a Spotify playlist for your listening pleasure. It'll be a mixture of genres, a mixture of bands and artists and a lot of great tunes. So, let's get this thing started.

TRACK 1: Waking Up / Pvris.
With the release of the new album coming up this month, Pvris have been dropping new tracks for us to enjoy and they've all been as amazing as the last. This track though, isn't actually from the new album and instead comes from an Acoustic EP that they did. It's one of my favourite featured on the EP, that until recently I forgot existed (I'm a bad fan, I know..) and I'm now obsessed with it once again.

Track 2: Fetish / Selena Gomez (ft. Gucci Mane).
It's the latest track released by Selena Gomez and let's be honest, it's hot. I'm not her biggest fan, although I do enjoy a few tracks from her last album, Revival. I love everything about it, the lyrics, the beat and also the video which has caused some questioning within the Selena fandom but screw it, it's different and I think it fits the song.

Track 3: Vicodin / CVBZ
I didn't even need to hear this track all the way through to know I'd have it on repeat. It's a great track, that'll have you dancing by the time the chorus kicks in. This song could be like Vicodin for the bad days, as you dance away all the negativity.
